KulturarvNord is a framework for strategic cooperation between
eleven art and cultural history museums in North Jutland. The
starting point for collaboration is to improve the ability of the
museums to exploit their academic and experiential potential. The
goal is to initially develop and implement communication and
networking projects, which envisages close collaboration with
industry and tourism.
This cooperation also provides for other joint initiatives:
■ Developing more effective joint marketing of museums
■ Develop communication platforms that make it easier to establish
cross-communication projects
■ Build and maintain expertise in areas where museums are
traditionally weak, for example IT , fundraising, marketing
■ Develop shared administrative tools
Besides the potential for cooperation on these factual and
technical areas, KulturarvNord enables museums to be strong and
equal partners in cooperation with authorities, businesses,
research institutions and the tourism industry. Only in this way
have museums a real chance to help set the agenda in the areas
where cultural heritage can be a significant factor in the overall
development of North Jutland. Museums can clarify their great
potential and get the strength to lead from the front in the
development of cultural projects. Projects centred on cultural
heritage will attract more tourists to the area, make the area more
attractive to establish new businesses and attract skilled workers
to North Jutland.
But first and foremost this strengthening of museums, which this
cooperation can enable, will provide better and more exciting
museums for the benefit of the region’s population.
